The internet is full of information waiting for exploration – from social media, to newspaper comments, to digitized archives. How do you begin gathering, analyzing and visualizing this kind of data? This track will introduce tools to get started with this exploration–no coding experience needed! The first day will focus on gathering data, including Twitter archiving, using APIs, and scraping websites. The second day will focus on cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing this data. Each morning will have directed, hands-on instruction. Get practice using these tools with structured activities or bring your own projects to work on in the afternoons.

All workshop sessions will take place 9:00 a.m. – noon, with lab time and office hours 1:30 -3:30 p.m.
